bridges, Iznajar is is almost entirely surrounded

the Lake of
Andalucia,
a reservoir stretching out for over 20 miles which offers world-class

and a beautifully clean, and usually deserted beach.
The water in the lake is warm in the summer, and great
for swimming - the water is fresh and salt free - a wonderfully
refreshing experience!

town also has a lovely municipal out-door swimming pool
just a short walk from Casa de Hisn Ashar, which is open during
the Summer months.
Villa Almendras benefits from its
own private pool, set within its private grounds.
The
area is surrounded
by an abundance of interesting and historical villages
and towns and
Iznajar itself boasts one of the oldest Moorish Castles
in the region as well as ancient churches and an historic library. To eat
out in the area you are spoiled for choice as Iznajar and the surrounding
area has a wealth of traditional tapas bars and restaurants.
Whether you
would like to dine at the world famous La Bobidilla Hotel (favourite stay for
the likes
of King Carlos, Tom Cruise and honeymoon hotel for Brad Pitt and wife) or
you would like to chat with some of the
friendly local ‘Iznajenos’ in one of the
town's numerous tapas bars, the
choice is endless.
The prime
location of Casa de Hisn Ashar in the centre of this bustling town is
unique. Traditional
tapas bars and fresh local shopping are just a few
steps away, whilst the beach
and shores of the lake are just a 2 minute car journey or a 30 minute
stroll. The exclusive beachside location of
Villa Almendras enjoys uninterrupted
views over the lake of Iznajar, the spectacular surrounding countryside and
over the picturesque town of Iznajar itself, whilst still being within
walking distance of the town itself. There are rural houses to rent in the
countryside, but often these are fairly
remote meaning a
car is essential every time you wish to eat out, have a few beers in a local
bar, or even stock up on provisions!

90 minutes away, and golfing facilities are within a 30 minute drive.
